Hey fine ppl from LPF, I read the thread about the blowing up battery problem one member had charging a 18650 WL battery.

Well that prompted me to go and buy a DMM and a new 18650 battery for my laser's...

One battery from RF that came with my FLX 150mW green is acting weird compaired to my other 3 18650 batt's

After a full charge the battery drop's Voltage...

After charge it read's on the DMM 4.20v, but after a few hour's and when checked again it read's 3.78v

All my other Batteries still show 4.18 volts hours after charge...

My question is..... Is this 18650 a bad cell?

Yeah it's toast. If it's non-protected it was discharged too much at some point in time and should be disposed of.

If it's a protected cell, i'd actually pull the protection circuit off of it then charge and test it again. Protection circuits sometimes go bad.

If it turns out to be ok after that, it's still usable, you just have to pay attention to it's voltage and not let it discharge lower than 2.75v.

Yup it's faulty for sure, I checked the voltage this morning and it was reading 3.18v... the cell is unprotected so I just took it to a battery recyclers.

After reading the WL cell blowing up it has me concerned.

Thanks for the replie :yh:
