Hello once again LPF. I have looked at a lot of the lasers that some of the forum sellers make including Jayrob's portable lasers. I know I have to be 18 to buy a complete pre-built laser from others, but does that include buying individual parts? If so I'll wait till February 2015 to buy.
Thx!

If you're going to buy a 5mW under laser pen , then nah you don't need to be over 18.
However if you want something in the 5mW+ range , then yes you'll have to be over 18+.

For one , its illegal to sell lasers above 5mW to people below 18.
For two , if things goes tits up and BIG BROTHER finds out we are selling lasers to underage peeps. We're going to be in DEEP SHIT. I think by the way things are going BIG BROTHER is just looking for an excuse to shut the entire hobby down.

So yeah... hope that answers your question.

AFAIK there is nothing stopping you from ordering separate parts and assembling it yourself.

Afraid not , but then again we don't talk about loopholes in the laws lol
Let's not give them any ideas.

You don't have to tell people you are under 18, but it's too late for that now :p

Personally I wouldn't have any problems with selling you parts.

Hey that's nice I'll be 18 on the 19 of february 2015 :D

Seriously I am used to high powered lasers for over a year now and if you know how to handle lasers safely age is not an important factor.
I have never had an accident involving lasers so far.

I've bought parts and lasers from many people here and no one cares you old you are if the don't think that you don't know the basics about lasers safety and write like a little kid

Yup. Act like an adult, get treated like one. On the internet no one knows who you are, people will assume you are an adult unless you give them reason to think otherwise.

Happy birthday to both of you. I'll be 53 on the 14th of February 2015.

Alan

Lol that's cool! What is it with the birthdays in February?

Yea, guess it only matters how mature one acts and not how old he is in most circumstances. And about laser buying on the forum, I'm going to wait till I'm of legal age anyway. Still planning on getting my dad's help with buying a 445nm blue laser from Laserbtb though.

Its definitely a must that you have to be mature enough to buy a powerful laser. When I turned 19 I bought a laser from blord( check my signature) !! And I couldn't be happier !!! I know how to use it and I don't f@%$ around with it !!
