That is a really strange looking diode lol. You'll need a custom heatsink to hold that in. As for the power i have NO IDEA haha. Good luck on this one :)

Cel might be right, it only says "power :13W" no information on the voltage or current is given.

Wow weird diode... perhaps a quick question to the seller will help

Looks like a stud mount package. Shouldn't be too hard to mount to a heatsink but will definitely need to be custom.

40A at 1.2V? you'll need a beefy supply for that.

Pulse is a pulse is a pulse.
What pulse length it can handle I ask .. is it those 200ns from the sheet ? That sounds like terribly short pulse.

Maybe some kind of strange VECSEL diode.
Here is a pic of one i found with a quick search

People bring these up several times a year. That's the peak power. The average is a few milliwatts at best. They're for range finders and lidar and stuff like that.

Okay, since at least one person missed my post, I'll make another and go through the math using the datasheet above.

They are rated for a max of 0.1% duty cycle. 0.1% duty cycle on 13W is 13mW. 13mW is your average power. If you go much higher, you melt it.
