I usually just read posts on the forum, but today I found a deal that is too good!

I ordered a 1 watt green laser for $99 a while back, but it got removed. Well, I found the same laser again on Amazon, I just ordered a second one

Amazon.com: 1000mw (1 Watt) Green Laser Pointer (Lights Matches): Electronics

My last $99 1 Watt laser was not actually 1 watt... my LPM rated it at ~450mw, occasionally it peaked at about 600mw (when the battery was newly charged), but that is still awesome, especially for under $100.

Anyway, I'm sure it will be at least 300mw, because it says it will burn matches.

I just figured I would let you guys know! I ordered one a couple minutes ago, I'll let you all know how it turns out when it comes! I'll upload pics also, if you're interested

I'm calling BS on this one. The majority of the light emitted from this thing is going to be IR.

Good luck with that... $99 for 1W 532nm....
Give us news when it gets to you...
What will you be using to test the Power...

It might be, but I have another "Ly Laser 301" which is what is pictured, and it does light matches and stuff, hopefully this one will too. I'll keep you guys posted and let you know what it is rated on the LPM

And that pic is definitely not of a 1W 532nm laser.. 1W of 532nm would be impossible to look at shining at something white at 2" and would be overloading the hell out of the camera as well.

If you have safety goggles for 532nm (and I would hope you do.) Do a LPM measurement, then do another one shining the laser through the goggles to block the green. This will tell you how much of it is IR. Subtract that from the first number to get the amount of actual green.

I have a cheap LPM that I got from Ebay, it is pretty accurate, probably within 5%, but it is good enough to get a rough estimate. I'm thinking about getting one of yours, haha

Er.. Cheap LPM off ebay? Any links? To my knowledge only the radiant alpha was cheaper than the lowest non-photodiode laserbee.

The HLPM II optical sensor LPM will only give you an
accurate reading of 532nm if you make sure to block
all the 1064nm and 808nm splash though from your
Laser...

@ QF.... I remember brand new Volkswagen Beetles
selling for under $2,000.00. But those are no longer
available....:beer::crackup:

The first time I looked it was correct but said out of stock, now the listing just seems to be completely screwed up. It even redirects to a different product. My guess is it was pulled for some reason and amazon's DB is f'd on that listing for the moment.

That Amazon page is all screwed up. The pic is of a bed, and the two reviews are for some plug-in quick cooling device.
I would get a refund as soon as possible. If they send you a laser, you will be lucky to get 100mW.
