So, I left my incomplete 1.5W 520nm build with my girlfriend and when I came back, she had done this with some electrical tape.

She's in medical school and thought it would fit her better. Looks alright.

I like the contrast of white and green. It does have a taped look to it. Have you thought about plastidipping it white?

I had the intention of buying a white host from SciFi but obviously that didn't turn out too well, so I made this really quick. I will get another 520 in the future, then I'll think of what kind of host I want but yeah I think white would look nice.

It was mine but I gave it to her since it was a quick build after not getting my lasers from SciFi. I still use it once a while but I'll make another one soon and it'll be officially hers.

How much did that diode set you back? The beam is gorgeous...

$283 1 year ago. I got the huge 35mm module. The new 25mm are $204-244 now. Although, those are overkill. Better to get the 12mm modules at $220.

A heatsink being overkill for 1W+ of 520??

It does have a unique look though:)

I agree, a white host would look great with that 520nm green! :D
The only problem I can see with using tape is that if you try and take it off after it's been on awhile, it's going to leave a sticky mess on your host.

Well in my case it was, I had planned to build a full aluminum heatsink but that module is so big, you don't even need one.

Cheap $9 flashlight host. Not even worried about it.
