Yet Another HeNe PS Inquiry

I’m seeking a few more brick-style HeNe power supplies (as pictured.) These are the Laser Drive variety so plentiful in the 1980s and 1990s.
  • Input: 110/220v
  • Output: 2150vdc, 3-6mA.
I like the ways these look and they match other PSU I have. I see them on ePay in the $30-$50 range, on occasion. I have more heads than working PSUs, and actually want to give a few of my lower-powered tubes away.

This is far from a new topic. I resurface it in hopes to find more sources. I’m open to suggestions, but buying new or at other input voltages doesn’t feel practical. I have my doubts, but if I can find a source, I would buy 10 so I have a few spares.

I don’t mean to be picky. If there is a better alternative that is economical, I want to learn about it. One thing nice about the 2150vdc variety is that I can exchange them among HeNes of differing colors.

Back in the 80's they were selling new between $450 to $600.

IIRC Sam's FAQ site sells some or try Googleing some Surplus
Laser related sellers.

And failing that, for the price you may end up finding that it's easier to use a CCFL inverter power supply as they can output almost the perfect amount of power for HeNe use.

As Jerry said- try Sam's Laser classifieds- you can be absolutley sure it will be a good PS and he offered free advice and repairs for life when you buy HeNes from him.

He may have a few not listed and also he sometimes fails to take down those sold- so Emailing him is a good idea- I got most of mine by watching and waiting for the good ones to show up a FeeBay. I also have more tubes than power supplies.
If you are unsure about the right PS Sam has charts crosss referenced. that give info based upon the nm and length of the tubes as well as by model numbers.

IIRC he even has some info on DIY PSs.
He guide to buying from Ebay is a MUST-read.

ATM there is a ebay seller with a listing for two- I think the price was fair as I put a watch on this listing..it is ending soon.
