I already have a 1218 and 1145AP, so i'm going to pass, here, but have an automatic search going for HeNe lasers and just got this one alerted to me:

JDS Uniphase 1145AP Laser Head/ JDS 1218-1 Power Supply - eBay (item 370347663300 end time Apr-09-10 13:23:14 PDT)

$229 for a JDSU 1145AP HeNe *AND* a matching 1218-1 (4100v, 6.5a!) power supply. (And a mounting stand and footswitch I guess?)
Two of them available... If anyone wants to know, these lasers will routinely do 18-22mW. The power supplies -alone- usually go for $350. I just got an 1145AP head from Dave for $150.

I cant tell what the full year on the 1145AP head is in his photo but it looks like "February 2002" or maybe even "2008".

Just really hoping someone from LPF gets these. If I wasn't trying to control my hoarding instinct, I'd snap them up... but am in "must. not. buy. every cool laser i see." mode right now. :p

But hey, second best thing is getting more people addicted to gas. :) And what better way than 2 feet and 20mW of 632.8?

Gahhh I really need a gas laser! Sigh too bad I just splurged $170 for a Scientech 365 + calorimeter on ebay...I suppose my desires for gas laser goodness will have to wait :( . THat is such an awesome deal though!

I paid less than that for my Spectra Physics 127 HeNe that's doing almost 50mW >_>
Plus you can see the plasma in mine.

This is a seriously good deal though, those power supplies are always really spendy. Not sure why a HeNe needs a footswitch though, but whatever =P

This laser arrived today. It was so well packed that it arrived with no damage and fired right up. This one is producing 15mW. The only change I made was to bypass the foot switch so that the laser turns on and off by the key. I didn't really want a foot switch with a brick holding it down on my floor. The foot switch is a very nice unit and will be useful. If anyone buys the second laser they should be happy if it's like mine.

Nice find- good deals can be found on eekbay if you do your homework.
