I'm glad you both like the 594 hene I sold you! They're nice lasers, I kept the third one I had for me.
Dave, I'm currently building a remote for the argon. It's all aluminium with a LCD meter built in for continuous power / current monitoring, like the commercial uniphase remote. Everything powered from the +15/-15 20ma supplies, hence requiring no wall adapter.
I'll post pics when it's completed.
Already told you, but this argon is just... pure awesomeness ;-)

I would love to see pictures of your remote. I have built them for the Cyonics units, but not for the JDS units. I got a couple of them for a very good price early on in the hobby. GooeyGus has one of them that is not being cooperative.

I'm very pleased that the argon worked out for you. It was the best one I had on hand. After the deal you gave me on the Yellow HeNe, it was the least I could do.

Gas lasers are so pretty, beautiful beams *snif*

Do they have better divergence than regular focused diode lasers? (not DPSS).

Not if you are comparing them to "focusable" lasers. However, considering that the beam is just coming out of the end of the plasma (no lenses), it ain't too bad. Now compared to a diode laser without the focusing lens in place, they are MUCH better.

I currently have 6 gas lasers, 4 of which have visible light beams (the other two are CO2). Here's a pic of the new home I made for my 3 argons (SL 488 on the left, SL 514 in the center, and ML to the right). On the upper shelf are some DPSS modules and some other laser stuff. My HeNe has no permanent home ATM, so it isn't in the pic.
