Synrad Air cooled, Sealed. Inexpensive with the educational discount. 10 watts is about 3K new when I got a ,edu quote a few years ago, and a fraction of that used. They have a refill port.

Ie RF excited wave guide co2.

Would not not rather use a small N2 for libs?

as I said before I planned to use the laser also for other purposes then I would prefer, if possible, a CO2 laser...

I know the Synrad both water and air cooled, but I don't think there's anything easily portable to field use. Perhaps with a battery and an inverter but it seems that their models require high amperage... BTW thanks for the advice I certainly delve :)

Here, a bit of education about "low cost" co2.

Long life co2 lasers that are manufactured in the United States.

interesting. I'm working on LIBS too. Perhaps we should chat?
Yes if you want, but I'm not directly involved in LIBS (only my collaborators), I'm a biologist and I use whole cell biosensor for environmental biomonitoring (one of mine research lines) :)
