2 are CO2

1 is Argon

They are neat!

Hope this is better, I didnt realize I posted in the wrong thread. I thaught this one was for lasers, not proper grammar and english.

I will just read and not share my knowledge anymore, just so no one will have to follow me around the forums and burst my quick and excited bubble

I never noticed anything about paragraphs in the forum rules?

Just so you know, those tubes only run vertical. They seriously detune when horizontal to some extent.

Thats ok, they can stay like that and I will direct the dot where I need it just the same. On the older Coherant the laser head with the tube in it comes off so it can be put on a table or something and aimed, so it might be ok either way. I got the Argon laser going too, it wouldnt do anything when I got it. I did the jumper from pin 1 to 3 and it fires up now but I am ordering a power cord for it so it is right.

Yea there is another pretty close to what I got for 489.00 on there. With everything I went through to get my lasers from the seller, lets just say I see another 1K I want to spend on stuff they have for sale, just not sure if its worth the headache and shipping they charged.

Have you jumpered the interface connector on the JDSU unit or attached an interface?

It won't run just by plugging it in and turning the key - you need to have the interface, or something along those lines to close the interlock and control power.

Look for your model on Sam's laser FAQ.

I have a project that I want to complete, I want to make my own engraver/cutter co2 system. I purchased 2 co2 and 1 jds argon with psu for 400.00, with freight the total was 900.00. I got them yesterday and messed around just to see if any of them worked, so I knew if I got ripped off or got a deal. I spent a couple hours checking them over making sure nothing had been scavenged or removed. The newer digital system has a password also, but there was a business card taped to the machine for the sales person who was the hospital go to guy. I figured I would call today and see if I could explain what I have and how I got it, and that I wanted to test it. I thought possibly the number would be on the machine somewhere, if not every person who used the machine at the medical facility would have needed to remember it. I looked around the machine, and actually found where they taped the number to it! Outstanding! I thought, then tried to fire it up. It has a very nice Hughes HeNe 10mw inside that fires up nice. After tracing its wires I found it has its own psu, once removed it will look just like it was purchased separately. After a couple hours of messing around, I finally got the co2 tube to fire. But, it shuts down before emitting and says it is out of calibration and low power. You get a nice purple glow in the tube for a few seconds then it shuts the tube off. The tube is a very nice 50w that is refillable, so now about the second laser and how it may help with this one. Laser 2 is an older Coherant co2 medical laser with a 60w tube. I plugged it in and fired it right up. I get no lasing from it, yet, but I think it is fine and I just need to find the right sequence to get it. The co2 tube in it is very skinny, about 1-1.5 inch dia. I think it uses the co2 and is not filled, as in there is a co2 cylinder in the back and I think it has to be flowing or the tube has no co2? The tube in it even though it is a Coherant, looks cheap with no adjustable mirror on the end. The cylinder is full though and I could use it to refill the other tube, once I figure out how to. Third laser is a JDS Uniphase 2211-20SLE with a 2110U-SLCBCC Power Supply. It looks almost new but will not do anything when plugged in. The umbilical between the psu and head has been replaced, and it was done with a cord from a different unit. I am pretty sure it just need to wired right because there is absolutley no response at all when plugged in other than a power light indicating the psu is getting power. So, here are the 3 units I purchased,
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

I am pretty pleased with my purchases, I ended up with 2 hene lasers that work, 2 co2 tubes, psu's, a working co2 movable arm and a bunch of other salvagable items inside both units.

Dont take this the wrong way--I got something very similar a long time ago about how I post long texts... yours above it a tad hard to read.

if you had done a quick edit it could have looked like this>>>

N/P like I said, somebody did the same for me in 2009 and since then I still type big bricks but do it in Notepad(just in case it goes away) and before I copypasta I make it easier to read.. another good idea is to type in word pad and use spellchecker. :D
