i was able to get this for <$150 shipped.
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

it's great that it comes with the remote, i wonder if it's usual that a 488 sl head would take 10a to make 30mw.
i really like argon lasers, they make my favorite colors (except for 612). my laser physics is just the tightest little unit and i fell in love. like me they are horribly inefficient, but do some fine work. i hope to have a multi line head someday. around a watt...with some krypton....and adjustable.....and....

Damn. Nice find. Someday I really want a Krypton or Argon-Krypton but they cost $$$. The ML Argon I bought from daguin is by far my favorite laser. It also dubs as a very pretty space heater in the winter too! ;)

That seller has some good lasers that come up. I just picked up a 514nm argon with PSU, controller and fan for $113. shipped. Plus the seller post's photo's of the lasers powered up and working so it's not as much a gamble.

Congrats on your score, a working argon laser for <$150!!:beer:

i looked up the head # and this is a 458nm argon. i have a new wl! i thought the spot in the pic looked blue. i had no idea the 514 head would go so cheap. good score!
mine should be here tomorrow

i got it but i don't have a female plug that fits the p/s, shit!
i will tomorrow......more to come

found a plug and cord - on my other argon.....go figure
i have to scavenge a cord for the fan at work today. we'll see if she lights when i get home:D

i'm very happy with this one, the beam specs are awesome:drool:

the pix were taken in current mode. the remote shows 17.8mw @ 7.5A. i haven't put my laserbee on it yet.
included were remote, power supply, fan, hose and head.
under $150 shipped:takeit:
i know i'm hooked now

i found out something about this head today. i had previously been forcing the cooling air thru the head. the manual says to draw air thru the head. when i switched the hose around to do this i found the hot spot on the head was in the rear. so forcing air thru it was heating up the oc and forward parts of the head. not sure if it's a big deal but i'm glad i RTFM.

yeah you right! this is a tight little setup. i'm hoping to use the power supply to power a jdsu 2214ml in the near future. a multi line argon will fill a gap in my wl collection.
