Hello all,
Today I received my Uniphase Cyonics 2201-40MLA from crazyspaz in the mail. Shipping was good, he shipped it out on Monday, and I got it today. Crazyspaz was extremely nice and quick to respond to all my questions. He even included, for free, a diffraction grating, saving me from looking on feebay for one. I would totally buy from him again.
This thing is a beast! The heat output was surprising, it heated my entire room from 60 deg F to 68 deg F with a run at max power, in 20 minutes, and I did not even keep it on the entire time, I let it cool down a bit. I measured the power input and... 110V at 14 A! My power bill is going to skyrocket this month.
It actually outputs quite a bit of power! I was able to light a match unaided at 2 ft. from the aperture, and it even put small marks on wood unaided at around 1 ft. from the aperture. If I were to take a guess at power, I would have to say it does at least 50mW, most likely somewhere around 70mW to 100mW. It does 6 lines in total on max: 457nm, 476nm, 488nm, 496nm, 501nm, 514nm.
Here's a picture of the spectrum:
Now.. On to the beamshots. All of the beamshots were taken without fog, in a normal room. I was lucky enough to be able to use a Canon EOS 7D DSLR.
Overall, I would have to say that this is one of my most favorite lasers ever. Thanks for the sale, crazyspaz!
