I got the laser last night! All I have right now is my cell phone camera because my mom stole my actual camera and is in Florida :p. This is the only decent picture I could get.

In Order: 5mW 532nm DX Pen, 1mW 543nm HeNe, 5mW 593.5nm CNI Pen

When you look at the ends of the beams, you can see the best definition of the colors. There's a pretty noticable difference between the 532nm and 543nm at that point :D

I've got a tube that looks just like that. I got it for about that price, too, but the output of mine is ~1.3mW.

Here's a comparison of mine to a dpssl. It's only a hair more yellow - you probably wouldn't notice it unless the two are side by side.

The cool of this photo is that you can clearly see the IR from the Dpss while the other one is pure green since the begining :D

Eh?... OH, You've got it backwards. DPSS is on the left. The "IR" you see is the orange glow from the gas discharge.

yea that's sweet. I really need me an argon.
Everybody really needs an argon.. especially multi-line:

The last one was taken by Daguin, but it is my 2214-40MLA multi-line system producing output at 458nm, 476nm, 488nm, 497nm, 502nm, and 515nm

I really like the turquoise color of a multi-line beam..

Believe me when I tell you that you'll be hard pressed to find a better deal than you'll get from Dave. The man knows his argons, and unlike laser pointers and even Chinese lab-style lasers, these lasers start off at around $7000 new with the power supply..

I fired up my HeNe today for the first time. I love it! The plasma does it for me, I'm not sure how I'd like a covered tube. Looks mostly orange to my eyes:

has anyone ever tried opening the housing on a Green HeNe? A bare tube green HeNe would be AWESOME!

The tube itself glows orange just like any other HeNe so it wouldn't be too much more exciting than any other bare-tube HeNe.. It's the optics that determine what wavelength the unit lases at.

Oh that's interesting. That explains daves orange/green HeNe lamp then, I was confused by that pic before. Thanks!
