For those that bought the ebay #200650363038 green 2mw HeNe bare tube.

If you are looking for an AC brick style power supply check out this one

ebay #200656277367

Melles Griot Helium-Neon Laser 632nm 15mw | eBay

This is a 380T power supply which is hard to find and works perfectly with the bare tube. It is great deal for that power supply and you basically get a free fairly strong HeNe tube with it.

From what I've seen, these particular power supplies are usually expensive. In fact Sam's laser faq classified's lists the 380T as one of the power supplies he also looks for.

Sam's Classified Page

The 380T is rated for 2800v and is adjustable from 4 - 7 ma. I tested my first one and it worked great with the green. I just bought a second.

The first 3227H-C-59 HeNe tube I bought was 9.3 mw. So thats a great tube also.

Just sharing. I really don't like the DC versions, although the can be had for $50.00 or less some places.

Nice find. That's a good deal for just the PSU let alone with a tube. I'd like to get a second PSU for my bare tube so I don't have to keep stealing the one from my other green HeNe. Very tempting....

Edit: Didn't catch that it was an AC supply at first glance. Now I'm *really* tempted. Gonna have to see what my trip to the doc's office tomorrow sets me back first.

I know in Aus, that shipping overseas can be a tricky venture, and usually not cheap either. I think you'll find a fair few eBay sellers that only list their own country will usually ship overseas if you ask. HeNe PSU's aren't particularly heavy :)

US international shipping is expensive, especially if you want tracking which you absolutely have to use with ebay.

For some reason it's cheap to ship stuff here tracked, not the other way around though.

Shipping from places other than ones back yard is a choice not made because of being lazy or cheap or any other reason (for me at least) than the fear that the item will not arrive.
And the situation does not seem to be improving.

The buyer can agree to take the chance but that is no help if a PP claim is filed.
You cant have it both ways--- if you declare the actual value the posibility of seizure or added fees goes up. If declared at a lower value it still may get taken and 'held in hostage' until such fees, duties, etc are paid. Or worse.

You cant have it both ways and hindsight is always 20-20.

An international, Priority Mail, small, flate-rate box is $12.
Brick-type PSU's will usually fit into one of these
Add PayPal fees and a little "handling" and $15 is not out of line

Peace,
dave

Yeah. The same box, mailed domestically (without insurance) is only $5

Peace,
