HeNe laser 1985?

I`m new to this forums and to lasers. I fell into this laser and i need some info Please. It is a COHERENT model 80 HeNe red laser, and a model# 304 modulator that screws in the laser tube and has a BNC connecter on it and this was manufactured in June 1985 it is 5mW CW. Any and all info will be greatly appreciated.

Good that you (apparently) have the original power supply with it!

With some more detailed pictures it would not be hard to figure out how to hook it up for a test fire. No idea if it will still run after 30 years, but i certainly is possible for these lasers to survive that long.

One important thing: do not plug in the power supply and start messing around! Though the amount of power supplied is fairly low, it comes at 1 to 2 kV with a starting pulse that could exceed 10 kV. Current on this size model is not enough to kill you instantly or anything like that, but it would deliver a very nasty shock if you got your fingers between the power supply output, possibly even through clothing or gloves when the start pulse fires.

The laser works fine. The head peace is what i would like to know about. Here are some pictures of it. Made by the same company If u could give me some info on it.

not really. sorry. but it likely doesn't work now from being opened. and it would need its respective driving equipment and cables and all that anyway. I doubt it'd be very useful to you at all.
