I was on the bay and I say a "broken" HeNe head and psu for $20. When I received it, I got down to figuring out why it was not working. After opening the head and removing the tube I found out why. My bore was a pile of broken glass on the inside of the tube I still think It was worth it for $20. I need to find a suitable replacement for my tube. It is about 7.5" long and the diameter is about 2. I can measure it with a calipers tomorrow. The psu is interesting too it is from the 80's and not a datasheet could be found how can I test its voltage/current?

Not a bad deal for a turn-key mains powered PSU. If you can't find any specs on the PSU you could measure the drive current via a shunt resistor but voltage would be a bit harder to measure due to the starting circuitry.

I'd hazard a guess at somewhere between 1500-2000VDC. That'd pretty typical of tubes this size.
