I was searching on the internet and found a website that sells incredibly high-power lasers: 400 watt CO2 Laser from Synrad
I never even knew there was such a thing!
Couldn't this thing engrave cement?
I'm scared! :)
How is this legal???

This is nothing new...

I do find it funny that they think a gas laser with 4mR of divergence at 3.5mm diameter has "Near-Perfect Beam Quality"

Divergence doesn't mean much when you're gonna focus it to a point a couple feet from the head.

Co2 lasers range from a few watts to over 100Kw output power , 400W Is low in terms of co2 ranges :p id say

At this power range, its not unusual to see very unconventional beam modes out of a co2. There is the classic "doughnut" mode as one example.

CO2 lasers are rather cheap, but if your looking at 400W I wonder what you will even do with that.
Many manufacturing planets use CO2 Lasers for precise cuts or laser drilling in microns.
Sorry for thread jacking but I am looking where to buy a 40W+ CO2 Laser in a nice host.
Do any of you know where I can get one?

You mean in a tank, right? :san:

No, CO2 lasers are huge and are definitely not portable.

Cheers!

I know mine likes to shift between TEM02 and the doughnut mode :D
