515nm Argon Ion

Howdy all. I'm pretty excited about my latest gas laser and wanted to share.

A 515nm Argon Ion laser. The whole kit set me back $130 with shipping...It came with a very nice Fan, the psu with two keys and a little controller. It didn't come with a power cord but I was able to rig one up for now.

My camera can't capture the color at all, but there seems to be a tinge of blue in the beam...hard to tell though.

I'll try to get some better beam/spot pictures to show the differences.

It looks pretty blue in this picture...I can assure you it's green in real life

That is gorgeous, and you cannot beat 515nm for $130 shipped. That's awesome! Where and how did you get this puppy??? Also, is it .4mW, or 40mW? Your sig is confusing me, might be lack of sleep though. Anyway, awesome grab you got there! I'll go do some googling now

Thanks. It came from an auction on fleebay. At power it is best guess +40mW

I think the last picture actually captures the color pretty well. There is almost a teal color to the lower wavelength green.

i was hoping you'd put some pix out on your find. never saw 515. Real Good Score!
almost bid that one, went with it's brother 458 instead.
