Those of you who have been around awhile, know that I have kind of a "thing" for old gas pointers. I just got a "new" one. It was new in 1972
The housing is a PVC tube. It has a PVC aperture cap and a "soft" rubber cap on the battery end. The button is plastic. It has an indicator light near the aperture. The button is a momentary switch. You push the button and it shines, (just like a real pointer )
It is a HeNe pointer (red). It is powered by 8 @ AA size batteries (12V)
It is 16 inches long and has a diameter of 2 inches. Here you can see it next to a Newwish style pointer for size perspective.
This is the indicator light and the laser warning labels
Here is the manufacturer's label. I haven't done any research about the company yet.
The battery pack
The obligatory beam shot. It is putting out just under 1mW
Peace,
dave
