Yeah, I mean , if DX would sell one of these, premade for around 40 bucks, there would be alot of people who would insta-buy it. :p

Yes, i think there is some money to be made here *hint* Maybe ill email DX. I Asked them about blue right after the first shipment of the dildas were deivered, and a few weeks later..."Poof" there they were, blue freikin lasers. Maybe they'll do the same for these ghetto yellows?

I don't doubt that the manufacturer of the host pointer could make this with little problem :) as an original manufacture item you would go about it in a different way rather than the add-on that I have done....I wonder whether they will try?

How does rog8811 make it look so easy? Because there is no way it is. The orthoscopic surgeon strikes again!

It is because I didn't photograph myself banging of my head on the bench in frustration.....or record the expletives that erupted from my workshop at times ;)

Some thoughts for other prospective builders:-
You do not need to turn down the front end of the pointer, this became obvious to me after my design change on the optics.
Try and source a flashlight with a removable front end that will fit the front of the pointer, use that as the holder for the optics. There is always more than one way to skin a cat............

Any one of you can do it, take your time, doing a small bit of gluing and leaving it to dry before moving on to the next bit is the secret. It is worth the effort :).

Yeah they will probably be allot different, probably allot better. not saying that yours isn't freakin Awesome! cuz it is. But you'll get a better product when you have a team of engineers. Anyone know who the manufacturer is??

has this been done before in a pointer?
Not as far as I am aware.

I bet if it was in the buy sell trade section (not that it will be) it would get some interest ;)

The batteries I bought for this are well in date but they last no time at all, I am going to try a 10440 and a spacer, with a diode in it to drop the extra voltage, it may or may not last longer but is at least rechargable.

I do wonder whether to try with 3.7v but I am aware that the DX greens are usually quite sensitive to over voltage.

are the mw's in the lasers a perfect match of power for each other to create that beam?

With fresh batteries the green is a little strong, you get a very green but still obvious yellow. Once the batteries have had a bit of use it gets better and as the batteries fade it turns more to orange.

I messaged dx, i have a query i sent in about a month ago. I explained to them about this yellow pointer, they said they will contact the manufacturer for me.( i don't know how truthful that is but im trying because this pointer is sweet)
