It's a negative feedback sensor. I have no idea what this means but I assume if you take that away you may be able to get more than 5mW out of it. Can someone verify this?
Sadly, this isn't the old days of the Leadlight 105 anymore. The pointers have been derated with smaller pump diodes and smaller MCA crystal assemblies.
You MIGHT get a little more but you will need meters to sense it. Also, many new pointers don't have a pot to mod. Welcome to electronics if you want to increase the LD current.
On LC this was ask and tested. It is true that the crystals are much smaller so that prevents it from putting out more power. With a 5mW lasers you wouldn't see too much of a jump anyways, just go buy a Nova Laser. ;D
