I just got my first laser!Its a 5w keychain laser but i was wondering what i could possibly do to mod it since i couldnt find anything on moding a 5w.

somehow I knew it was gonna be that video!
and flashback, building a laser isn't too hard. All it takes are the right parts and a little patience. Those little keychain flashlights don't even have pots (unless i'm mistaken. They might have them, but too small maybe) that you can turn up to make the laser put out more power.

...im getting really confused at the moment cause im only 14 and have no experience with lasers....>.<

also what materials do i need?

Try checking out the tutorials in the Tutorials and help forum. That's the real place you should be, not this Experiments forum.

Overall, please don't trust any of these stupid youtube videos that say you that is possible to turn a 5mW pionter in a 50/100 mw pointer ..... LOL !

Maybe at the first times, there was some of them that for market stock problems was using overrated diodes and can be turned in something few more powerful, but actually, with all the availability of diodes and crystals that actually they have, if a module say 50 mW, probably is already working at 90% of his maximum power, or similar

IT sits there and holds the diode, and allows the lens to screw into something. Do your homework and look around, search before you post!

i agree with jaseth. i own one and it is awsome. and once you get it take it apart and really take a look at all the parts. this will familiarize you with what it takes to do your own.

The thing is that my parents wont let me spend that type of money on a laser so...yea.its really good though,i'd like 1 but still....cant..
