Chances are it's already operating at its maximum output. If you try and push it any further it'll most likely just shorten the working lifespan of the diode.

you want a pot mod, its not recommended, unless you want a burning laser pointer for a short minute of entertainment. you pot mod ("tune") it, you'll break it.

Don't pot mod, unless you're tuning it down. Or like Liberty said, for a short minute of entertainment. You'd probably spend more money having to keep buying and modding 5mWs than you would buying a high powered laser that would last forever. Bottom line: DON'T POT MOD. Save your money and buy a 50mW.

Tuning implys changing frequency as in tuning between radio stations. Power is not tuned -- only frequency ie wavelength. You can't tune a green to another color.

if he wants a burning pointer idk if a 50mW is really whats best, i mean mine is bright as hell but i cant get it to burn anything. your better off getting a dilda or a factory pot mod green flashlight style from DX

I didn't say it would. I just said that because 50mW is about the most power you'll get out of a pot mod. Get at least the Alpha 100 or X100 for burning. :D
