Hello all, some picture of my relatively "poor" laser made in hurry. I made some labby style unit thanks to sightfx heatsink, which are well made ! the specification are below the picture. Next, im gonna build my DIY 532 nm from Susie's crystal and some FAP800 unit !

ok i admit there are not well made as the other menbers'mod, but they work. I used high capacity battery such as
DealExtreme: $9.53 Protected 25500 3.7V "5500mAh" Rechargeable Lithium Battery (new battery i have the following : )
DealExtreme: $8.15 25500 Rechargeable Lithium Battery (3.6V 5000mAh)

(i have a lot of them that why i used them instead 18650 battery, their internal resistance are less than the 18650 battery, so don't do short circuit ! my wire melted !!! (up to 10A constant current!)). I found that a good way too make connection (to recharge these battery for example) is to sold magnet on wire, and fix magnet to battery. I fix battery to the container with powerful magnet also. I had problem to achieve a good parralelism between the 2 beam (in the second can) . The first can is a lpc at nearly 550 mA with a modified meredith glass lens. The heatsink come from an old dealextreme red unit.
The second unit contain both lpc and phr laser diode at 500 and 175 mA( coated lens). When the battery are not fresh, the phr have lesser current, so 3 battery would be more clever to use with a phr. The diode are driven with ddl style driver (mc33269 for phr), the heatsink used (double sightfx heatsing for the red one) is some of sightfx heatsink. He offered me a "bad" third one that i holed and added to the red one. The can come from coffee can that i have saw in 2 part.

From left to right :
1) lpc at 550 mA
2)Cree host DealExtreme: $11.99 Cree XR-E LED Flashlight Complete DIY Body Shell/Casing Kit with Driver Pill (2*CR123A/1*18650) from dx, with a 100 mw module from susie (it Rox ! i can take instant beamshot with no exposure or fog)
3)triple mxdl that i have repaired (the greenie was dead at 99.99% of the build last year)
4)phr in a 14500 flashlight host DealExtreme: $10.73 UltraFire C3 Cree 1xAA 1x14500 Flashlight (with Holster) with a flexdrive that i received 1 year ago, more difficult than i thought to do this ! but work well at 135mA.
5)lpc and phr labby style, 500 and 175 mA
6)lpc at 500mA in a chunk heatsink

I gonna make other outdoor beamshot, but i dont have my fuji 100fs, have a panasonic FZ28 which are less sensible to 405nm (it appear more blue).
I make also a painting of ZnS from readysetglow (red and orange powder mixed), which react with 405nm AND 532 nm, but don't stay very long

Well I think the pictures are awesome and the first mod is really cool, I loved how you used magnets as contacts :p

Way to go!

Excellent pics! Those are two nice powerful labbies. I liked the macro of the IR LD and also the iolite. Great stuff.

Yeah... the magnet contacts are a great idea...
The closeup of the LD is amazing....
And your builds are great... you will get even better at
assembly with more and more builds...:gj:
