Solitaire flashlight + an easy mod for a beginner...

Ok, I got a Maglite Solitaire recently and I've had it in my pocket for about two months, and its really useful! However, it is very dim...

I was wondering if I could upgrade it with an LED, I spotted these batteries:

and a 3mm white LED for 3.2 - 3.4V:

Will I need to add things like resistors etc? 3.7V is a bit higher than the 3.2 - 3.4 specified for the LED, I'm not sure if the LED is any good... My knowledge of electronics is rather lacking!

Just wondering if its worth putting the effort in! I really like the design of the solitaire, and I like tinkering with things...

Yeah that is really a great idea, curious about flashlight mods too now, thats a good thing.. we should expand the areas covered by lpf n add a bit more related ~ unrelated topics, we already have flashlights n led section though.. everybdy should go there bit more often.. just saying!
