Ok, I'll admit there is lots of good info out there about drivers for lasers
BUT there is too much confusing info floating around for those of us who are new to building lasers.

I would love a list of ready made drivers for those of us who are unable to solider in apartments..etc
My self included. ::)

A consolidated resource page of drivers might help...

Just a thought.... :-?

try the buy/sell/trade board if you cannot make your own.

rckstr sells a simple adjustable current regulator for ~$10 which runs off 6-12v and drlava sells a more efficient buck/boost converter for ~$20 which can run off 3-5v

the consolidated list you speak of is at the top of the page: ***THREADS OF INTEREST*** (though it's not always quite up to date, it still has scads of good info and many step by step driver tutorials)

btw, I live in an apartment and solder things all the time... so long as you remember to unplug it when you're done it doesn't set anything on fire, and unless you're soldering thousands of circuits at a time it gives off negligible amounts of fumes.

Really, there is an actual county-wide ban on soldering in apartment buildings?! Wow...guess you learn something new every day.

I couldn't imagine life without soldering, but I guess thats just me.
