I just checked it out in the higher rez. It looks like her maxi pad/tampon slipped when she was sitting on the bike.

Yeah people suck all over the world. It does not matter where you come from, or where you live.

Though it is comforting to know that a great deal of people who suck less go to this forum :)

And yeah, the plans for building what I'm interested in might be kind of off, but perhaps we could pool what we know of this technology and perhaps in time, we can find some method of creating new and better things, and at a much more feasible range :D

Who knows. I just prefer to be optimistic.

At the moment, its not really possible. But believe me if there are any big breakthroughs it will be posted here probably before anywhere else. Members here are pretty good about finding and posting interesting articles.

Portable Ruby Laser ??? Just wondering if it'd work, I don't know much about them other than that they're powerful as hell...

You need some serious charge for the flash tube, I don't think it would be too portable.

I made a portable YAG...even if the ruby needs more energy, it should be possible. 100W converter, bigger battery...should work.

LOL ..... no, sorry, just a Denel NTW20 in 20x82 cal .....

@AnselmoFanZero: is possible to improve an SSY1 cavity, taking away the q-switch and optimizing the PFN, but is still a risk, cause there's always the possibility to blow the lamp or damage the YAG rod ..... it can be used for "punch holes" or at least good burns in a lot of things, but also as surplus, those cavities are not cheap, and once the rod is gone, there's not too much spare parts, around, for them ..... anyway, i suppose these are from the more robust and cheap units that can be found around, being originally designed for militar rangefinders ounted on tanks (bumps, vibrations and mechanical shocks and so on)

I was able to blow one of them, 3 years ago (note for self: never try again to pump 60J on a SSY1 rod :p), and i'm still trying to get another one somewhere, but those damn no-export rules make it difficult .....

60J ey? I fire the lamp with 120J.
My SSY isnt even pulled from US tank btw.

The only "problem" when modifying a head, is to realign the mirrors. I hate it >.< just hate it.

60J ey? I fire the lamp with 120J.

Sorry, i said it bad ..... my design was a little bit modified (6 flash lamps around the rod, firing in sequence :p) ..... i was trying to obtain a "high repetition rate" pulse, but i forgot that the energy need to be dissipated, and the SSY1 have no way for do it, if not for radiation in air ..... using that assembly with 15 or 20 Joule for each flash, it was working good enough, but then i was tempted and increased the capacitors banks ..... it worked, for some time, but in brief time the rod blowed up (cracked is more exact), so i wasted a good cavity :cryyy: ..... and now i'm still searching for another, but apparently there's some only on ebay USA, and they don't sell internationally for export rules .....

But i'm not in hurry, and first or after, i will get one of them again in my claws *insert EVIL laugh here*

Cracked rod??? XD
Duuuuude...I would charge ONE cap 2 times per second, 30J...way easier. Should be the same circuit as used in strobe-lights...almost the same.

Just an idea: Why didnt you drill 2 holes in the cavity, small but strong fan blowing cold air up its ass ;-) That should give you a few shots more before the rod heats up too much.

@T_J, LOL, well, not yet a powerful laser, but i have somewhere a 60mW He-Ne a bit bigger than so ..... it may be used for make a setup similar to that one :p :D

@ Anselmo: yes, cracked ..... i suppose you know how is structured inside the SSY, that white reflector tube with the lamp on one side and the rod in center ..... i just drilled other 5 holes sets, placed exagonally around the rod, changed the original lamp with photo flash lamps, used an elevator for charge 6 banks of capacitors, and a sequencer that send 6 pulses in sequence to the trigger transformers each time that i was pressing fire button ..... spacing them 5 or 6 mS, with the PFNs that discharge the caps on the lamps in 2 or 3 mS, it was giving a decent imitation of a "quasi-continuous" long pulse (also if, in reality, they was just sequences of 6 pulses very close one to the other) ..... and, ofcourse, i was making all cooling between each shot ..... only, i had not considered the danger of that , when i increased the cap banks ..... it worked for a bit of time, then the rod get cracked, damn ..... and i still don't know if this is happened for the stress of the energy discharged, or, maybe, cause the rod core heated too much from the pulses too quick repeated and too high ..... my guilty, anyway, so i can blame no others than me ..... :yabbem:

Sucks big time. But why the hell 6 lamps in such a short time?? xD
3 pulses per second would be still cool enough and the one lamp should do fine.
Cooling needed...but should work. I got a real small water cooled head left. You could make a nice handheld marker with it...SSY is not made for REAL burning...know what I mean...
