I've pushed one of the GB diodes to 500 mA !!!! That's with TEC cooling.
I would recommend staying at 250 to 275 mA ( WITH HEATSINKING) untill you have a feel for the circuit and diode. Once you are happy with the laser, push the other one to the MAX !!! Be Careful..

I must have a computer problem here, many posts here don't show capital letters or punctuation. I gotta check this out - It makes reading difficult for me.
The point is even if you want to run your diode at 130ma, what are you going to do 6 months from now if we find 300ma diodes. If someone did a GB for the EU-38, I would but a few.
And Mike is right, don't push your diode too hard to begin with. You will be surprised what 200ma of current can do.
You got it -- Start in a LD "safe" area, enjoy and then start pushing the limits. There's a bunch of us who went for the MAX right away and went to bed unhappy.
Ooohhh -- you won't believe what 350 mW can do !!! Slash tape !!!
Well I have already went to bed unhappy a couple of times. I don't think it is because I pushed the diode too hard, but rather ran it too long. I need to be more careful.
I have my TEC cooler and LD independently powered by two of daedal's circuits, but running off the same power supply.
My RS rheostats came today so I have very good control over the TEC and LD.
