Ok i want to modify my o-like laser so i can turn the power down , the little potmeter inside is what i need to make external with a on-off pot meter.
Does anyone have eany suggestions ?
Did anyone modified his laser like my idea?
If i turn the pot down the laser mode hops in TEM02 but that doesn't really matter
Or maybe... someone did modded his O-like

I want to take the risk to do this :) but for now i wait for any suggestions.

remove the pot and resistor (s) and add your own? It might take long but the results will be pleasing :D

If you use thru-hole resistors and a pot like this one for my bench PSU:

(blue one in top middle of pic)

then you shouldn't have too much of a problem :D

You basically want to replace the internal pot by some exteral power dial? Electronically that seems very simple, although i'm not sure how you are planning on fitting it to the host.

I don't think there are such things as turn on/off pot... what you will end up doing is always having it on slightly (ever so slightly) but it's just really dim. You can't STOP current flow with a potentiometer, just resist it.

why a turn on-off potentiomer?

You could still be able to mount a clicky switch, which would be IMO be easier to use due to the fact that you dont have to turn the pot every single time you want the laser to turn on. You could also leave the pot set to a certain current and turn it on at that point every time.

yes but i am not going to drill a hole in the host to mount a pot meter + there's no space for that so i only can use the tail cap for a pot meter ,really there's no space, even a thin wire can't even pass next to the batt it's all a super tight package
