Hey people,
Me and a member Gofilord here came up with a new host design I could stock up and sell.
Since my last Phobos host was a "minimalistic optimized host", this time I think it'd do good to introduce a "maximum maximum powerhouse".
Ladies and ladies and gents, I give you Gofilord's & Eudaimonium's - eXperiment 1; GE-X1, or simply for short, Gex:
Voila.
Featuring room for up to 4 drivers AT ONCE:
One right behind the diode,
Two on the surface of the pill,
One 17mm board socket on the bottom of the pill.
Drives off one 32650 (also fits 32500 and 26650 cells), uses 12mm standard Aixiz thermal clip... uhh, module, external focus adapters of your choosing, standard 16mm tailcap clicky switch,
And a heatsinking potential to cool off even the hottest of the diodes and drivers you can possibly pack into this thing, owing it to smooth threads with good thermal capacitance, effectively turning entire host into one big thermally connected mass.
If you grab a magnifying glass you can see the spec of aluminium with it's accompanying 16340 battery on the right side of the image, that's Phobos (or one of it's earlier designs, size is more or less the same to this day).
Also, imagine there's a set screw up there on the head holding Aixiz in place. It's visible from outside.
So let's get down to business.
==========
Price!
I plan to be selling these in my shop. Gex is gonna run for about $65-70, each. No Aixiz module or focus adapter included. or contact boards, but clicky switch included. Focus adapter along side of Gex will cost ya' $5.
However before I fully commit to buying more surplus materials, additional tap'n'die sets etc, I'd need to find out how much interest is there for these.
Raise yo' hands who'd pay $70 for this host. If 10 people express interest, I'll go through with all the preparations and final tuning on the first prototype.
Note, expressing interest is not "committing to buy". I simply need to know if you WOULD spend $70 on this if you were looking for a host like this.
'Tis all.
3DS Max still running, if you want any changes previewed or whatever, let me know. I'll cook 'em up.
