So im doing the driver by Daedal's DIY and I am making it very close to http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1209830634 So I wanna mod my stuff into a flashlight so I can use it as a nice pointer. Yet it seems I need the CR123 batteries. Do these fit into a regular flashlight? Any suggestions on a flashlight that I can use, and not the dorcy Jr. since I am following this sheme and making the driver stuff myself. Do I need an aixiz module if I get a closed can diode. Also can I sholder directly to the board like in the link because I want it to stay very small and have a bunch of wiring. Need suggestions :)

OK I think I got it. So ill use all same components except I don't need the pot. I can mount It all on the tiny chip in the flashlight and it should all work.

Great now my only step is to get the diode which seems to be the hard part.

i would recommend getting a senkat diode. 20 bucks and they can burn pretty good. they are solid diodes except i have broken 2 already :'( one about 5 hours ago. pin popped off tso thats 20 down the hole.

stonetekelectronics.org is where you can find them along with aixiz modules and glass lenses and all your lasing supplies.

I agree, [link=http://stonetek.org/shop]StoneTek Electronics[/link] has great diodes for a great deal.

@ trevors, you can solder the pin back on if you want, then use some silicone around it to hold the pin on. it works but isn't as sturdy as a normal pin setup. would save you some $, not time though  ::)

good luck,
Kendall
