Lowering the threshold for sensation is more related to thinning the epidermis than increasing the concentration of nerve endings. : Yes, the "other" has the thinnest epidermis at around 0.1 mm (i.e., .004 in.), though the inner part of a lip, in second place, is still thin. :-*

Old science here, eh? The last time I had any biology not related to communication was 1989 and I don't think we talked about this then. Good God! My info could be a left over from High School!!!! It is amazing that I even retained any of that.

Forgive my neglect to mention the obvious: Your new pocket Blu-Ray shows very tidy design and construction, a thing of beauty and a joy forever--or until mod fever sets in again!

My comments re skin thicknesses hark back to my few years as hospital "night" lab tech while getting a physics degree. (Okay, so that combo doesn't make all that much sense.) We night lab techs there were college guys given a lot of on-the-job (nonlicensed) training, mostly pre-med types, sometimes given to towel-snapping topics, including various trivia concerning anatomical parts--certainly including some considered of continuing interest to young guys. The location of thinnest skin happened to be memorable and, apparently, the numerical thickness, too. ;D

The central factor contributing to skin sensitivity to heat may well be summed up mostly in skin thickness and dampness. However, for single-line laser light, perception certainly involves laser luminosity and skin thickness, but may well also involve photon energy exceeding particular chemical activation levels in skin and neural sensors.

BTW, the inside of the eyelid is a contender for thinnest, though it is a literal strech to consider it external skin.

I used it in the unit. I stripped off the electronics and used it to support the positive battery connection.

wow i really need a lava drive to give me more options of hosts dont get me wrong i love Ryans rkcstr drives in fact i think i have about 6 of them the 3-6 volt option would be nice though ;D

Both drivers have places in my collection AND in my build plans. Especially now with Rkcstr offering the adjustable drivers and SOOOOO many optional power levels.

Adjustable AND fits inside of an aiXiz module . . . .sweet stuff there

I keep this one right at hand. Whenever I just want to amuse myself for a minute, I grab either it, or the "predator sight" that you can see next to it under my desk lamp.

The predator sight looks cool. I saw it in the other thread. I cant wait till I see the photonics lab at my school -- I'm going into college next year, and they have a degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialty in Photonics. It looks to be pretty damn cool.
