My Dual Wave Dot Sight Mess

I have been trying to get the perfect night vision scope dual wave laser dot sight for my BB machine gun together for a very long time, now. I modified an old gen 1 night vision monocular onto an electronics project case from Radio shack that serves as the rail mount, and holds all the electronics, and have been using dual wave, single can diodes for cd/dvd drives mounted in 12x30 module casings for the laser part. I made it so I can switch them back and fourth, the idea being to go from red to infrared for night scoping. But, the problem with that is that the dots will not line up in the same place.

So on to plan B: Sled Sacrifice. I have harvested the entire laser sled from a cd/dvd burner this time, the idea being to leave the diodes in the sled, along with the optics that combine the two beams, and turn it into a laser pointer, somehow. Now here is where this will get hard to explain, the question I need help with. I need to use a standard laser pointer lens, but I don't know how/where to put it. I have lots of room to mount the sled guts in any orientation in my project, so that isn't a problem. But where to put the new lens on the sled in relation to the optics inside the sled, and which parts do I need, and which need to go. The floating lens with the focusing coils on the sled now will have to go, I think, but the question is does the new lens go in the same place, above the angled mirror in the sled, or do I remove the mirror, and put the new lens in that position in the same orientation as the diodes? Does that make sense? I can butcher the sled any way I have to, no problem.
