Good deal, thanks! I hope drlava still has one for me. I would like one for comparison testing...

Someone who actually burned a black spot on his retina said that after a time the brain builds an image around the burn spot. He did say that when he looked at a line the spot of damage made the line seem to disappear at that point.

Glass lens screwed out all the way with silver grip thingy:

Size of glass lens (with silver grip thingy) compared to aixiz module and aixiz module spring:

Close up comparason of glass lens (the long, metal one) vs. normal aixiz plastic (short back plastic one), and silver grip thingy:

Glass lens back (notice there is no plastic to pry/cut out like in the plastic lenses), vs plastic lens back (I have removed the plastic from the back):

MXDL open can, SenKat diode box (which I tried to sell but could not), and empty aixiz module waiting for one of the IR diodes im getting from "TheMonk" (all resting on top of my new G1s-B2):

how do u get the silver grip off? i have one of the DX ones... do they screw off or do u cut em off

Some of them are glued onto the nut. Some just require some extra torque to get loose.

Peace,

They unscrew...

Also, I would like to point out that using my heatsink, there is plenty of room inside of the host to set the focused module so that the focus ring is 'flush' with the face of the heatsink.

Even using the AixiZ glass lenses. Amk must not have cut the back 'barrel' portion of the AixiZ module shorter. You don't need the entire length of the module. (in fact, you don't need the back barrel of the AixiZ module at all!)

4.07 volts @ 3.7V?... uncanny for a linear CCS. are you sure your Si diode is ok? 1n400x are vy robust, yet... What about the tantalum cap? Maybe this circuit is plagued with parasitic oscillation occurring under different load conditions. These are just speculations a scope could support or debunk.

These lithium batteries are actually at 4.2 volts when fully charged. 3.7 volts is when they are low and need charging.

Gazoo, I did another test with the little test circuit using a peltier as a load. This time I connected it to the DMM correctly. The readings were 4.06 volts @ 345mA. This tells us that the current reading that I got with the MXDL is accurate. No? I don't profess to know about electronics. But I know that the current with the MXDL is 338mA and the power reading is over 300mW! The voltage reading is 3.55 volts. This voltage reading seems to be the difference. Please build a little test driver like I did and help figure this one out! This is amazing!

There in the picture ^^. ;D thats the multimeter I have. I see that you have it set for ma's and I KNOW that my meter has INTERNAL RESISTANCE on that setting so I instead use the amps reading so the diode does not blow once I turn it on WITHOUT the current meter. Try to measure the current WHILE your measuring the power. Then you'll know what is going on with your meter. ;)

i will measure the power of my 460 mA open can/glass at the faculty today, hope it reach >300mw  ;)

edit : :( we got 290 mw with a thermic sensor, it was so old, think it's not the right power, with 460 i must to be at >300mw
and my 405 nm at 170 ma goes to 110 mw... lol too old powermeter =)
