Im trying to do Senkats build and I'm having difficultys with my multi meter I set everything so Ma should read on it and when I go to test it on say a AA batt it reads crazy hi in the 400Ma range then it goes down over time to a meager 32 or so and holds there. Any reasons why this would be happening?

Do you mean you are puting the probes on each end of the battery with it set on ma?
If so that will tell you nothing..... You need to be drawing current from the battery with a resistor and LED or something similar, you then will measure the ma with the meter in series with the circuit.

If by SenKat build you mean you are building an LM317 driver, go to the following thread to learn how to test it before adding the LD...
