This was the answer I was most afraid of.  Disassembly and figuring out how to push it in farther.

Dave, I have never had to do that. You should be able to just fix the module. It will be an easy fix. Did you see this post? :

THAT Mr. TheGr8Revealing is what we like to call a KEY bit of information. I disassembled it, fabricated a tool, pressed the diode all the way into the adapter, and voila!

Focused perfectly from close up burning to a tight dot 30 yards off, with more focus length left. I'm alone here. That is the farthest I could shoot it in my backyard.

My diode is protruding a bit from the adapter, but not enough to hit the lens.

haha well thanks!!! Nice to feel like i can contribute after all the time and $$$ ive spent getting into this awesome hobby (or as some of you would call a life style!! :D)

now only if it was cheap to send a beer across the country and keep it cold. lol.
