I know AixiZ are always going to have loose lenses because they aren't premium quality, but does anybody know if there's a way to maybe make the lenses fit a little tighter?

A turn of PTFE tape will do it, the sort plumbers use.
I bought some glass lenses, they are in a brass housing and are a much better fit.

There should be a spring in there to maintain lens to housing tension. The teflon tape works good for me. Just be sure there are no shards of tape in front of the LD.

All I do is to stretch the spring with my fingers to make it longer. After that the lens has a much tighter fit.

I wouldn't have thought that white teflon would burn, but sure enough I guess I got some small shreds in front of the LD once, because the next time I opened it up, I ended up having to pick little black threads of stuff out of my open-can. Very delicate procedure that. The surprising thing was I hadn't seen any decrease in output.
After that I took to just messing the plastic threads up a bit with a soldering iron to make it a little harder to turn freely.
I always wondered about having that spring in there - if that would absorb any of the output. But I guess any it would have absorbed would have been off-axis anyway. Now that I've got a meter I guess I can measure to see if there's a difference with the spring.

Hmm, I never thought about the spring, but I doubt it will make a significant change in power, if any.

Is the spring still in it? I had one like that to, and here is a barbaric mod that actually fixed it, but be careful when doing it. Down the threads of the actual lens parts, take a knife and smash down the threads a little bit in a line. Don't over do it, just do a little bit at a time until you find a "setting" that best fits for you. Look at my attached paint masterpiece.

thanks for the answers! it turns out my spring wasn't in, but even with it, its still kinda loose.

I'm probably going to try messing the threads up a bit with the soldering iron, though, that seems like a good idea.
