I got bored with my MXDL phr bluray so i decided to rip out the module and turn it into a small device for easy burning. this is what it turned out like....

I like it because it is small, light and is easily maneuvered so i can burn in any direction.

so what do you guys think? safe, problems that may arise?

Not that portable... I'd prefer having a switch on it. Maybe it does have one, but I can't see it with all that blur.

It's not a flashlight.... It's a LASER.... great...

I think... the 9Volt Battery Clip is the Switch.. ::)

Nope no good. I would love to have this but you can't use only an aixiz to house a blu-ray I've done it and got 2 hours of diode life I was pissed just buy the original dorcy jr heatsink and slide itover it screws into the housing anyway.. Just to be on the safe side

I agree with Tony on this one. If you're planning on doing some burning with it like you mentioned, the mA needed will probably generate an unsafe amount of heat unless you don't mind having a 10 second duty cycle.
