I have recently purchased an 3d laser show from spencers. and its totally bad ass and all as is but i was curious if anyone has played around with it. such as hacking into it and reprogramming the board to accept different designs of if anyone has figured out how to hook it up to a pc and control it that way?

I saw one of these last week while X-Mas shopping...

The geniuses at Spencers have it mounted on the ceiling, shining down onto the floor in the main aisle of the store. If you don;t see the image on the floor, you have no idea that it's even there. Walking towards the back of the store, you get flashed - full on - by this thing. I spoke with the store manager, who said that Corp says that is how it should be set up. When I explained the danger of operating like that, he simply shrugged and said "Call corporate and tell them."

So why don't we all "call corporate" and tell them...

At the 4.9mW power level there is very little chance of injury from even a static beam much less a moving one. Pretty much a non-issue.

My core measures at 3.3mW. Even if the projector is 50mW, the beams aren't static - still not much of a risk.
