Re: 48w + 445nm handheld laser module

Yes, you're using a wave plate to rotate the polarization to get rid of the +. That's great, but people have been doing that for years, and it's not the same as combining 3. You cannot combine more than two - it's not a matter of "getting it just right." I'm telling you it's a physical impossibility.

edit: I found a comic that perfectly illustrates this adventure of yours :)

I am not using a wave plate, I and I was told I could not get this (l) with 2 beam that it had to be (+) Sorry but I have , but if I get time I will see if I get the 3 on in the same shape (l) like this

Christopher Columbus was told the world was flat, but whey were wrong, good thing he did not listing to the people that hold him not to try!

He may have been "told" that by ignorant people, but he was already well aware that the world was not flat
His own observations told him it was not flat
The people in power knew that the world was not flat
The reluctance to fund the voyage was not based in the fear that he would fall off of the edge
It was simple economics

You have been told by members that you cannot do what you want to do with the components you are going to use
You believe that you can
Instead of arguing over it, just produce your result

This is one of the most basic reasons why I told you that this thread was premature

Yes.
The main "ignorance" of the time was about how big the earth really was.
He was looking for a "shorter" route
That didn't work out so well for him

However, he is not famous for finding a shorter route to India ;)

There is an old saying: "If you stumble, just make it part of your dance"
I would say that Columbus' legacy has done just that

Peace,
dave

Re: 48w + 445nm handheld laser module

To prove this you can show it working with three diodes, or show it working with two diodes then meter it, put a PBS in front and meter it again to show that the beams are not being split by the third cube.

Re: 48w + 445nm handheld laser module

Thanks Dave/ daguin your so right , but I have got this (l) beam profile from 2-module and 2 cubes will show video of it this weekend and keep all the people up to date on the 3 cube and so on. So if it can not be done like some have told ,how did I do it? I was told I could not get over 3.5W form 1 diode but I did and thanks to DTR letting me use this LPM to show my LPM was right, I proved it to all .

I hope you do not close this down !!!I have a lot people look for this to work!
And how they could do it.

If all else fails the cube holder and aligning mechanism you have is pretty sweet. Would definitely be interested in that to buuld a twin diode labby

Kudos for trying to do something amazing but like Dave was hinting at it is better to do something amazing and then put up a thread detailing the way it was done than to put up a thread saying you are going to do something amazing and then set out to do it for the first time. That can lead to somewhat embarrassing disappointments if it does not pan out.

Thanks for all you help I will try to show the the 3rd. cube working if I can this weekend . the machine shop did not make all the parts like I had ask some of it was on me . there working on fixing me up a lot more to test as you can see in this video ,I had to work on what they sent me so it make it hard to put it all together . laser cub module 001 - YouTube
I was so happy when I got the 2 to work, I just had to hell people .
thanks for all you do!

very cool idea and i am definitely excited to see the outcome. If it works I will definitely be interested in grabbing a set of parts!

No one is going to close this don't worry.

We're all interested in which direction this "experiment" is going.

I am going to put up video of the 2 beam show the pattern like this (l) they will not be aligned over each other so you can see this pattern (l) I was told I could not do this but you will see it today, that I have done it.
power video could not get both beams in LPM but nice video of the power 2nd video up loading now http://youtu.be/VgXtEe5X6VY
2nd video showing both beam like this (l) http://youtu.be/8nEC6SaXazw

Re: 48w + 445nm handheld laser module

are you saying that you run 1 laser through 1 cube. so you have 2 lasers and 2 cubes and so forth??

Ps, just like member froyo... if you have to ask for help in building something, maybe you shouldn't be trying to be a seller. All your threads are going to do is get you neg repped then banned.

Michael.

edit: sorry for the negativity, i'm having a bad day and thought i'd share the love.

thanks for that but I am not asking for help just showing something new I am working on. Some think it can not be done.

But if you look at the last 2 video, I show it can be done.

power video could not get both beams in LPM but nice video of the power 2nd video up loading now 2 cube beam shot - YouTube
2nd video showing both beam like this (l) glasse on cam beam shot 001 - YouTube

I don't think anyone was saying that couldn't be done, it's been done lots of times on the forums already, just like in my dual/triple handhelds.

What people are saying can't be done is combining more than two diodes with a PBS.
A video of combining three diodes this way would clear everything up.

I was told I could not get this (l) pattern from 2 beam that it had to be like this (+)
so if I have 2 coming the same shape like this (l) it should repeat .and I have shoot one beam through over 4 cube coming out straight ,it all the the way the cube are set up. I will see if I can show the 3rd module this weekend if I get time .
