Hey 'yall,
I just modded my Kryton with a key switch because the clickys that come with it both failed.
So I thought I would share with you.

That looks nice. :D Is it the only switch? I mean, do you need a key every time you turn on your laser? :D

Yes, it's a maplin switch, this one: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=2445 <-- Gotta love maplin.
What have done is taken out all the parts for the stock switch, I inserted the keyswitch in it's place. I then had to epoxy mine in as I lost the retaining nut but you I guess you could use that insted. Once the switch was firmly in position, I connected one pin to the kryton case and another to a spring. That's it. I also got a bit of metal and used it to cover the slot that lets the key out when the laser is on because I found that I the key falls out and I have to scramble around looking for the key with an on laser.

on ur key switch does it mater which one is for pos or neg ? i have a aluminum host and i did the same thing as u said above. but it always stays on

No, something must be shorting somewhere.

i have no driver hooked to it yet, its just to wires im checking from with my dmm
