so i killed my 6th 20x diode, long story made short
the original ribbon was soldered to a wire and then glue with the aixiz cover on. i removed the glue (glue from glue gun sticks) and twisted the aixiz housing to take it off so i could solder the wire back to the ribbon as it came off and the pins got twisted.
so i soldered a wire on and the next thing i knew it worked but..... the little chip on the diode had come off where the ground wire was connected and then ......... you know the rest, it stopped working.
BUT i made it with a 16x into a maglight and this is it
