Still one of the coolest low-budget items-- great way to 'break the ice' with someone who still asks "what is the attraction for you with the dang lasers?" Fun to use with music-- you can gently tap on it to the beat of the music.
Still not a good thing to give kid as a toy but at the price its a good deal-IMO

I did not like the lack of a lanyard and the button was too easy to activated unintentionally. So I took a cell phone case that was a perfect fit and made a hole for the 'bouncy' efx to clear( I plan to make that a tad neater with a bead of black epoxy around to hole that I cut.) A lanyard and be easily added and the clip allows a safe way to keep it handy. No need to remove from this holder to use either.
To make the buttom more protected I used two fairly thick O-rings they are a snug fit and not likely to move over the 'on' buttom by accident.

I would not recommend more than a 30 second duty cycle so I do not use the o-rings to keep it on. One memeber noted that after two minutes of continiouse use that the laser starts to output a beam that is of a differant size-- maybe somebody can expand on this issue.

thank you for looking---hk

if anyone else owns the disco hand held laser above, feel free to test the following out and please post the results on this thread.

Put your disco laser in the crazy moving spiral mode and hold the button down for 2 minutes or more without letting go, and see if the spirals thickness decreases, or just put it in normal pointer mode and see if the dot becomes a lot smaller and less bright after holding the button for 2 minutes or more.

I am just curious if anyone else's 30mW disco laser does this, it's not a problem because it returns back to normal power if you don't use it for a minute or so, thanks.

I actually had purchased 2 of these in aug via amazon for 18.99 and one of them would get dimmer after about 15-20 sec of use,the other one was fine ran for a full min just fine, didn't really try any farther as it was kinda cheap and the laser spiral effect is awesome. A guy i know really wanted both of them even though the one got dimmer after about 15-20 sec , at first i wanted to keep them and order 150mw green modules for them that would be sweet!! but after a couple of days of asking he bought both of them for 40 a piece, and he's going to order some 532 modules and have me show him how to put them in. I'll post some pics when the modules arrive he ordered over the weekend.
