Awesome work guys. I found a TEC I had, I got it from an older Mac (it doesn't surprise me to find a TEC for a Diode inside something from Apple from years ago, but the heat-sink is way too small for any decent type of thermal pumping...) I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the DIY TECs I thought I heard mentioned. I've been looking, but can't find anything. I haven't played with my diode much lately, I got a new computer, and spent the good part of 2 days putting it together (I got the whole thing assembled in about an hour total, but I spent the day modding the front of the case, the LEDs in it were too bright, so I added 100 ohm resistors, instead of the 38s that were on them to begin with, and I also added a tri-color LED that I got out of some key-chain LEDs from DX, it looks pretty cool, but it took a lot of time away from my laser tinkering). Once I get my next pay-check, I'll probably order some thermal epoxy, and some TECs, and see what I can get out of my diode. Sorry for the lack of updates, they've got me working a lot lately... and I've been busying with my computer. I hope the TEC experiments continue, they'll be wonderful to read about what you all have worked on, and learned when I get one to play around with.
