Just in case nobody here speaks "idiot"...
This n00b is talking about mounting a laser onto this:

He must have seen this article:
Parrot to launch an iPhone-controlled helicopter | VentureBeat
and creamed his pants thinking about mounting a laser onto it. Most likely impossible to achieve.

Now, I have a few micro-heli's, and none can lift (much less, fly with) any laser I have (even the smallest LR44 keychain one).

I have quite a few small helis........a couple could lift a button battery low mw unit..maybe.
But anyone that has flown these know they drift like crazy. Having any running laser on one is just not a responsible thing to do.

I see a kid fitting a 1W blue laser to a heli with duct tape, turning it on, then trying to take off. It would be horribly out of balance (because seriously, would you think someone trying this would think far enough ahead to plan for that?) and it would pull one of these...

I've thought about mounting a laser to my Eflite Blade CP Pro 2, but I'm horrible at flying it and everyone around you would have to wear goggles. Maybe I'll try it once I get some more flying experience + an open field with no one else around.

I have a Trex 500 and wouldn't even think about straping a laser on it!
I know it would pick it up, if you crash it would be an expensive crash.
I have not had a bad crash, but I have crashed it. The last one cost about $100.00
Laser $300 + RC helicpoter $800. = JUST STUPID!:spank:

Ya I know it's stupid (safety and cost), but it would still look EPIC.

Nice heli btw

It would be better to just build a laser into the helicopter. You already have 22.2 v and you could add a radio controlled switch to turn it off and on. There is room for it.
