Okay i am about to begin the final prep for a production 445nm laser build.
I have spent weeks training a few people to build these things needed.

But i know people love their hosts and having well over 100s to chose from i want to offer a few.
I want one to be small aka a pocket build and a large for long run times, and then something in between.
Now i have access to hundreds from cree to ultra fire and every one else.
i just need to be able to pick a few.
There is going to be a large image with number on it and a poll corresponding to it.
Now there are 2 kinds of heads.
An assault head or flat. all this means is that
the tip of the flashlight will kinda look like a crown. vs just being plain flat.
most have this option.
hostspick.jpg

all use 2 cr123 or 1 1850. except number 10 that uses 3 1850, its big!
number 2 does let air into the heatsink for good fins.
So please let me know what ones would be good. so vote in the poll.
Also i can have my own logo put onto these. Still thinking of what to call them...
So once they are chosen there will be a contest to make a logo and name for them.
There will be a prize of a free laser or 50% off. that is a whole pre built with a glass lens 445nm laser for under 90$

So vote away. oh i can only have 10 options so number number 10 will be a write in, also number 10 is referred to as tank i think.

Re: Host poll. pick the best ones! Possible logo contest

Okay I have the 7 host (WF-502B) and I absolutely love it, it is just the right size.....but #10 build looks awesome it was a massive heat sink and a great runtime, and it could be used as a bludgeoning weapon. Just #10 seems a bit big to be practicable. Just my 2 cents

it was hard for me to chose i have number 2 and 11 on hand atm. number 2 is great for long run times. and still not too big it fits into pockets still.

I like the shape of the head on number 11. I also think that 2 has a great grip on the handle and I like the holes that show the heatsink in the head.

How come you can't vote for 10? I think I have seen that host somewhere before.

I would say number 10, followed by number 1. The duty cycle and battery life on 10 would be insane, and I like the design of 1.

I love #10, but the fact that it goes for $100 plus is a deal breaker.

The "I think I have seen it before" was a joke.

I call the one I built the 1.8W DTR Frankenstein. Check my sig if you have not seen it yet.

added contest info. so once there are 2 leading the polls i will start the contest.
There will need to be an image kinda basic and a name.
I have been unable to come up with a name and logo so i am bringing it to you guys.

I like #1 and #11. I like the shiny look as a opposed to the black. #11 I like the clip for holding it in your pocket. If you could get #11 in the shiny chrome look, I'd go for that!!

I picked #1 and #2. They both have great and some what unique looks. I also really like the potential for having a finned heatsink visible in #2 and to top it off it not only would look good, but the fins would actually have a true function in that build.

Also just to clarify on the contest, you need a name and logo for the specific laser? Or is this for your "business" etc...

Also you mention a logo, what are the parameters such as image size, content restrictions, color schemes, etc...

i have tried to get some in a shiny color and i might be able to. at this time assume i cant but if i order 1,000 of them i can get them any color i want for free.
On me i have number 2 and 11 i heave built a working laser in both. but only had one driver and am keeping it in the bigger one.
Number 2 can hold a massive heatsink 1 5/8 in wide by about 2in long. or i can make it a bit smaller and number 2 should be able to fit 2 1850 batteries.
number 11 does have a nice side clip it is firm and also removeable.
So if you dont like it, it will come right off.
You can judge their size by the fact that all of them are about 24mm where the battery's go.
so you can kinda judge how big the head is compared.
As far as the contest i am not 100% sure.
I dont have a name for it or my own logo so i just want something cool and new.
i might make a few examples to get you guys started, but there is a ton of freedom.
I have had 4yrs of photo shop work so i can draw up some nice stuff but it must be only white and black no gray.
the size of the image will depend on the host so i have to wait till the 2 finalists come out.
