So i have no lasers :-[
I have a few extra Cd burner drives that i can take apart and use the ir diode.
Few questions tho.
First of all, Which cd burner would have the highest power diode ? the 52x ?
2nd of all, Will a aixiz module be enough to focus the diode properly ?
3rd of all, What power can i expect with a 150ma Driver ?
Thanks

You have a better potential IR laser in your "broken" 100mW greenie. If I were you, I'd work on getting the crystal out of the way and making it focusable (or change the fixed focus to some known distance).

The diodes from these CD writes is lower power than the pump diode in the greenie.

Peace,
dave

But i'm not sure if the diode died or the crystals. It was lasing till i gave it 4.2 volts and it just suddenly dimmed by the second till no more green light was seen. How would i focus the ir diode if i were to get the crystals out of the way ?

IR light focuses just like any other light.

So the IR diode is still good ? and how many mw you think it is if it powered a 100mw module ?

You need one of these ¿ and one of these ´ in your keyboard :p
¿Cómo?

You can expect over 500mW of IR there. And 500mW is the lowest to expect.

I know. They're there. I'm just too lazy to look up the ASCI codes for them.

Here's a little short cut that i use.
1. Go to start and click on "run"
2. In the Command box type in " Charmap"
3. Click enter.
4. Viola !
5. ;)
