I recently purchased an extreme lasers gbs-100. the laser is claimed to have 100mW output but the module reads 500mW peak output. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with their products and if so what would be necessary to modify this laser to say 300-400mW safely without destroying it. both the module and the driver are T.E.C thanks

LOL, 300-400mW? Well, buy a new 400mW laser, switch the two with your eyes closed, and the task is done! If the laser could handle 400mW, it would be tuned to 400mW - a lot more $$ for extremelasers.

The 500mW peak output is just saying your laser is guaranteed to be <500mW - IE, your laser is a class IIIB. A 10mW class IIIB laser can have a <500mW sticker on it to simply make sure its not mistaken for a class IV. By no means does that indicate it will ever, or could ever, attain 500mW in any of ones wildest dreams.
