Here is some info on the mini modules that I have been adding to boxes going out and sending to a few friends. If you make an interesting build with one please post it ans some pics here--enjoy- these are provided to me for you by Dr Chuck at Aixiz Lasers--
One the red module this version is the same as the the one linked here except there is no spring for the neg.'-' the case is Pos..'+'.afaik eye safe and they are focusable- which is needed as the power is so low you realy need it focused.

sorry about thewrong link- the other free mini modules are 5mw 405s- you cna see specs etc at AixiZ but IIRC the ones listed there are for making a line not a dot- otherwise they are the same..

650nm 5mW Laser Module 3VDC Adj Lens Sping Mount | eBay

here is the info on the 405 mini

This

http://www.aixiz.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/54/products_id/267

is the link I meant to post here- I was wondering why some had asked if I had any free 532 modules left-- maybe AixiZ will give me some to pass out--

for those building very small spiros see this link- I am sure I can get you a better price on the 532- and you can get the two others (R & Br) from me for free while suppply lasts

ALSO FYI>>>
New at AixiZ the mini projector modules several powers and available,in stock in 405,445-532 and 635nm- I have the 180mw/635 quite nice beam profile and 60 mW over spec on my Kenometer Lite. Very small footprint and you can stack the drivers to allow more space on your base plate. I may get another and BSC them together- ~480mW before losses. TEC /fan cooled for unlimited run and long life. All have same size head and diver board-all 12vdc- this one is ~$74. If anyone wants a set of 2 ,3 or 4 modules I can apply for a combo price. PM to learn more.

Hak, it looks like that spring attached in two places. Does a spring need to be connected at both points, or is one OK ?

Neither IIRC_you solder your neg lead to the hole between- those AFAIK are just places where the spring would be secured to the PCB

These are not very powerful- you may need the lights out to see your spiro well.
The downside of fan motors is not being able to reverse directions.
AND if you want a 'whispy' looking beams/cones etc- you might want to remove the blades from the fans- less air movement make for better Liq sky and tunnel efx. I turn off all ceiling fans and AC when i fog up my laser room.

I like those fans for tunnel EFX and if you have a thick mirror you can glue it on one of its long sides and make a flat line for liq.sky- these fat FS mirrors are found inside flat bed scanners= sometimes found even in dumpsters. I blacken the edges and backs of these mirrors with a sharpie.if not some light will come thru the edges..

Nice to see you and chuck doing a giveaway on LPF. I'll sit this one out though since I already won a laser from you as a door prize at SELEM. I would live to see what people are doing with these too.

Any I have leftover will travel w/ me to SELEM- I will save two or three of each aside for you and Natilie.

Hey, just postin my very first ever built laser, and its all thanks to these free little mini modules. Was bored spent a good 3.5 hours runnin around the house looking for scrap parts. Final shopping list 3 ball bearings from an old skateboard, broken flashlight I found in a trashcan in the garage, some tape and solder. Feelin pretty proud, but being a perfectionist I plan on going bigger and better so stay tuned!

O, and its the 650nm module! I have another project for the 405s

Well without any further delays, I present you with....

...The Macgyver!

Ok let me get it... is this a givaway or not?
I can't understand it from the first post. If it is I would gladly like to know how to get in it. I would be interested in one of the red modules.
