Everything I need?

So if I wanted to make a laser (let's say a 100mW red), all I would need is-

A diode and housing
Driver and solder
A multimeter similar to this
Some safety goggles, and a housing for the laser?

Would I need anything else for an IR diode, besides the Aixiz housing for it?

You need the same stuff I believe for IR or Red or BluRay.

Diode
Lens/housing (usually aixiz for both)
Housing for all of it (MXDL or flashlight or custom box)
Driver (home build DDL or bought)
Batteries, solder, soldering iron
Electrical tape

Possibly
Hot Glue or heat shrink tubing

All the links you posted are fine, although I'm not sure about the multimeter.

And for an IR diode, you need the exact same things you need for reds. Except for the goggles, you need IR blocking goggles. Again, check the link I posted above.

Um, solder is that wire you melt and the iron is the tool you melt it with :-?

Oh, ok, that's been bugging me for a while. Not knowing the difference, I thought the wire would just be called a wire.
